Windsor Product Used: Pinnacle Wood Clad
New Construction - Commercial
Located in Milwaukee’s desirable North Shore suburb of Shorewood, LightHorse 4041 is an 84-unit luxury apartment complex designed into a commercial/residential multi-use building. The name, LightHorse, pays homage to the historic background of the buildsite and its surrounding 30 acres, as it was previously used for the home barracks, drill field and stables for Wisconsin National Guard’s 105th Cavalry Unit until 1929.
The architectural design of this project consisted of many large, mulled window and patio door configurations, with clear-coated pine interiors and an anodized champagne finish for exterior cladding.
Comments From The People Involved
Eric Ponto, partner at Engberg Anderson Architects, stated, “When working on the design for LightHorse 4041, we were looking for a window that could provide an exterior look matching our intended modern aesthetic, but an interior projecting the traditional look of wood. The Windsor product gave us an anodized exterior option that complemented the stainless steel shingle cladding, while the clear pine finish gave the interiors the desired warmth of wood.
The flexibility of sizing options and design of the product allowed for large openings that fill the units with natural light. The assistance up front helped the design approval process with the developer and the local municipality.”
