Monroe Plant Accepts North Carolina Gold Safety Award

When companies talk about what they are most proud of within their business, safety is not always the first thing mentioned. This is not the case at Windsor Windows & Doors. On June 14, sixteen team members proudly accepted the North Carolina Department of Labor Safety Gold Award for Safety Achievement. This is the 6th year Windsor’s Monroe location has achieved and been recognized for this accomplishment by the North Carolina Department of Labor. The certificate is awarded to companies in North Carolina who meet and/or exceed safety standards in manufacturing for recordable injuries in the workplace. Windsor Windows & Doors as a Division has also received the Woodgrain President’s Safety Award seven years in a row with the 2021 win. Windsor’s safety team focuses on constant employee awareness, continuous training and re-education when there is a near miss or first aid situation.

Divisional Safety Manager Bernardo Penoro attributes the safety achievement to the employees. “The ultimate measure of our team's success is not where we stand in moments of comfort, but in times of challenge and controversy,” says Penoro. “The adaption of safe manufacturing principles and empowerment of our people has created our paradigm shift to what truly matters, ‘Safety Above All.’”
