Windsor Windows Patio Door Division is preparing for future growth and product expansion. The patio door production lines have been moved to what was previously our vinyl production facility. This building is located adjacent to Windsor’s Divisional Office Building and the wood window manufacturing plant in West Des Moines, Iowa. Having this space devoted specifically to patio door production will allow for future expansion of these products.
This move required tremendous cooperation between our production, metal, warehouse and machining teams. The project was planned to begin on Friday, January 11 with the goal to re-start production on Monday, January 17. There was extensive planning and preparation between these groups to get the equipment unhooked, moved and reassembled in the new location. We were able to use the same large equipment moving company for this project that helped us last year when we moved our vinyl production lines to the Norwalk, Iowa location. Remarkably, the entire move was completed and production resumed one day ahead of schedule… and without one customer back order!
We are proud and grateful to our team members who worked together to pull this move off without a hitch. This new spacious production facility devoted to patio door production will allow us to make some interesting advances in 2019. Watch for more news soon!?
