PowerTools Update

Windsor has been working hard over the last couple of years to improve the quoting process for our users within the PowerTools quote program. While the functionality in the PowerTools program is more advanced than what was available in the previous WinQuote program, many users felt that the user interface was not as intuitive. So, based on user feedback, we have made it our focus to improve three main areas within PTQ – 1) the line item display, 2) the configurator and 3) the project tree. We understand that a lot of change can be a challenge as well, but we felt these changes were necessary to address the feedback we have been hearing from you, our users.

The line item display was updated in the December 2010 release to be more dynamic, allowing a user to show or hide child lines as well as look at a detailed or condensed view of their line items. These changes gave the user more flexibility and allowed them to more easily review line items on a large quote.

The changes to the configurator screen are currently being rolled out to all users. An email was sent out asking each user to watch a short video about the changes that were made and then register to receive the new layout – if you need this email resent to you, please contact your Inside Sales Representative. The changes to this screen made creating a line item much more intuitive. The main difference is the flow of the questions are now top to bottom on the left side of the configuration screen. There are no longer multiple locations a user has to navigate to in order to answer different questions.

The project tree change is tentatively scheduled to be rolled out in April 2011. These changes will include a matrix view that will allow a user to sort and group quotes based on a number of different fields including quote number, quote name, purchase order number, created date, etc. The user will also be able to select from columns that they would like to appear in their project view, allowing them to more easily find the quotes they are searching for.

We are committed to making the PowerTools quote program not only the most functional quoting package in the industry, but the easiest to use. We will continue to use your feedback to make improvements to the structure and functionality of the program.
