Windsor Engineers Proudly Give Back

Growth of our Engineering Team at Windsor is a critical part of our success and recruiting the best talent requires building strong relationships with nearby universities. Our Monroe, North Carolina location has 6 engineers who are UNCC graduates and we have found great value in this partnership. As a result of this ongoing relationship, our engineers have been asked to participate as judges in some of the UNCC programs.

Recently, Eric Mercer and Adam Graybeal attended the 2021 Senior Design Expo as industry judges to help crown the overall winners. As part of the UNCC Engineering Program, teams of students from various Engineering disciplines work together on industry projects. This year, the school had 89 teams present projects at the Fall 2021 Senior Design Expo. Eric felt it was a great experience to interact with the various teams and to provide unbiased feedback on their hard work and ideas.

Jon Wainwright, one of our maintenance engineers, also participated in the selection process for the Levine Scholars Program. The Levine Scholars Program takes the brightest, most capable students and gives them the tools, resources and environment they need to explore the world around them, engage deeply in their communities and excel across disciplines. The four-year scholarship includes full tuition, room, board, a grant to implement a service project of the Scholar’s own design, and four summers of experiences that develop leadership skills, social awareness, and an international perspective. As a past recipient of this scholarship, Jon was honored to be selected for this role and says it was very meaningful to him to be able to give back to the program that made such a big difference in his life.
