Developing a Red Zone Mentality

The year is winding down and all the focus should be on scoring in the red zone!

When I look at football, it’s apparent that the teams that only “dabble” in the red zone usually don’t make it deep in the playoffs. More often than not, teams that are focused on scoring in the red zone are the ones that eventually become Super Bowl champs!

As you look to the fourth quarter of your business, focusing on scoring is important. It’s as basic as making just one more sales call per day, or doing one more quote.

Bottom line: we need to take market share in the fourth quarter. Don’t let up! It’s time to focus on your customers and determine how to change their buying habits.

Now is when we need to engage the customer. When it comes to the fourth quarter, football has a lot of similarities to our business. We need to demonstrate a disciplined sales management plan for being successful late in the game.

Remember, football teams — and window sales — are won or lost in the fourth quarter. Each of us has a choice to make.
